Analysis
Note that these glosses, inserted into later sections of the text, hark back to the themes of the sections on Wiprecht's youth and legendary ancestry. They suggest that either the author of those section elected to put his stamp here too, without otherwise revising the text; or that a later compiler strove to provide a modicum of thematic unity by inserting them.
